rsyslog
Description:
rsyslog is a (remote) syslog client that can send (rfc 3164) syslog messages to
remote syslog servers. It is designed to be similar to the logger
utility but send the messages to a remote server rather than a local syslogger.
It is used like this:
rsyslog hostname facility.priority "message" [appname]
Update: rsyslog (Ver: 1.1.0) will now display the possible options for facility and priority if no parameters are given. (The older version only displayed basic usage).

Application Notes:
This application was written primarily to test the remote syslog code I maintain for a number of projects, and to test the syslog daemon that I have written called lsyslog.
